Chris Brown breaks down performing during Jackson tribute at BET Awards‎ 2010

Thanks to R & B star Chris Brown the 2010 BET Awards delivered some unexpected drama in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The 21-year-old singer fought back a flood of tears during his electric tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

Brown took to the stage for a slick, four-minute medley of Jackson’s greatest hits.

The performance was filled with dance moves inspired by the King of Pop, who tragically passed away in 2009.

But Brown’s command of the stage suddenly faded as he began singing Jackson’s song “Man In The Mirror.”

The audience in Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium watched on as Brown began choking on the words and struggled to complete the song.

Moved by his pain, fans began shouting out the lyrics and helped Brown to regain his composure.
